Hock: Hard act to follow for Hockeyroos

The Hockeyroos will be out to back up their opening match heroics when they take on
world No.8 Spain at the Beijing Olympics today.

The Australian women came back from 4-1 down at halftime .. to snatch a stirring 5-4
win over world No.9 South Korea on Sunday night .. thanks to two goals by late call-up
SHELLY LIDDELOW.

It was a shot in the arm for the once mighty Hockeyroos .. who arrived at Beijing with
little fanfare .. and after slumping to a world ranking of fourth.

The three-time Olympic champions fell from grace at Athens .. missing the podium altogether
and placing fifth .. their equal worst result in six campaigns .. after their last major
tournament win two years ago at the Melbourne Commonwealth Games.

Coach FRANK MURRAY says the comeback victory is just what an Australian team boasting
10 rookies needs.

The Hockeyroos are in the group of death .. featuring world No.1 the Netherlands ..

with the top two teams in each group moving into the semi-finals.
