Qld: Deal on Gold Coast desalination plant

Queensland Premier PETER BEATTIE will sign a deal with the Gold Coast City Council
on a desalination plant today.

Mr BEATTIE and Gold Coast Mayor RON CLARKE will sign a memorandum of understanding
to investigate and develop the plant.

It will separate salts and impurities from sea water for drinking .. with initial work
costing the state and council 100 million dollars.
