Memorial services for Ruth Shriman, 83, a community activist,senior citizens' advocate and educator, will be at 3 p.m. May 6 in the Atrium Room at Ann Sather's restaurant, 929 W. Belmont.Burial was private.
She died April 18 in her Lake View home after a long battle withcancer.
Mrs. Shriman worked to improve the lives of the elderly as amember of the Jane Addams Senior Caucus on North Broadway since 1976.As a board member, she championed such causes as affordable healthcare, medication and housing. From 1987 to 1993, she was itsdirector.
